Each category was evaluated on the basis of capacity, condition, funding, future need, operation and

maintenance, public safety, resilience, and innovation

In 2016 Tennessee increased the state gas tax. EPA has completed 6 drinking water reports that warns

Tennessee needs to invest $8.7 billion to improve & maintain safe drinking water. 43 utilities reports

struggling with treated water loss rates at 40%, a very costly incident. In 2019 there were 12 systems

under sewer tap moratorium due to overflow. In 2022, 45 municipalities issued moratoriums restricting

Creating health communities allows Tennessee to expand which requires clean air, water, & updating

crumbling infrastructure. An upside of such obstacles is the generation of good paying jobs to our skill
